In 20 years of history, we've experienced a lot. Looking back, one of the things we're most excited about is how women's football has evolved around the world, both professionally and at youth level. Rapinoe, Martens, Alexia and Vicky Losada are now stars after a long road in which they have overcome many difficulties. We hope that the next generation will start dreaming on the Costa Brava...

September is over and although there are still a few months left for the MICFootball, we are working tirelessly so that next Easter we can experience the best tournament in the Costa Brava’s history. At the moment, the clubs seem to be looking forward to MIC, and that is why registrations are going at a pace never seen before at this point. We already have teams from 36 countries registered for the tournament! Since 2001, when the first edition of MIC (Mundialito Islas Canarias back then) was held, the tournament has changed a lot. The number of teams, players and media attention that the Mediterranean International Cup has today has nothing to do with what happened at that time. It all started with 5 categories and 128 teams. Already then it was a tournament of considerable size compared to other youth football championships that were held. This weekend starts a new season of the Liga Iberdrola. The women's competition begins a new course in which lovers of women's football have placed many hopes. At MICFootball we also believe in futfem, and this year, on the 20th anniversary of the tournament, we will once again have the female category. In 2020 it will be the 10th edition of the Mediterranean International Cup in which women have their own space and, fortunately, this is only the beginning.
