Successful weekend for the MICPlayers

Last weekend was very special for some old friends. Becoming a world champion, scoring the first goal in LaLiga and making the first team debut are some things you can’t do every day. Our heroes are two girls and two boys, very young, and with a promising career ahead of them.

Let’s begin with the youngest, Claudia Pina and Jana Fernández. Both footballers, 17 years old, have reached the biggest success in Spanish women football history, the U17 World Cup which ended in Saturday in Uruguay. The FC Barcelona players are the two core players in La Rojita team. Jana Fernández commanded from the centre back the game of the Spanish squad while Claudia Pina brought the magic and the goals, which awarded her the Golden Ball and the Silver Boat of the tournament.

Both players played the MICFootball’17 wearing the blaugrana shirt. They reached the semi-finals where they lost against Atlético de Madrid. Even though they are pretty young, they can already say that they are world champions. That won’t be their last trophy… Congratulations!

First sensations at Camp Nou

The next protagonist is “the veteran one”. He is one of the biggest hopes in La Masia and Ernesto Valverde is giving him lots of minutes lately. Carles Aleñá, of just 20 years old, scored his first goal in LaLiga this Sunday, at the Camp Nou. The footballer born in Mataró made the 2-0 for this team after a great pass from another MICPlayer, Leo Messi.

Aleñá have played in many editions of the MIC-Mediterranean International Cup, where we enjoyed with the evolution of a player, called to do great things in the years to come wearing the blaugrana shirt.

Our last MICPlayer had a magic debut with FC Barcelona first team. Riqui Puig, MICFootball’17 MVP, played his firts minutes at the Camp Nou under Valverde’s orders, with a great performance.

We have seen them grow and now we see them success. So proud of our #MICPlayers!
