Real Betis will repeat its presence in the next edition of MICFootball, which will be held on the Costa Brava from April 12 to 17, 2022.

The Verdiblanco club will play its 3rd edition in the tournament, an appointment that it won in 2018 in Category E.

Betis is one of the teams with the longest tradition in the Spanish football, developing great football and with a well-worked youth academy.

About some MICPlayers

In the current Betis there are a total of 9 players who played MICFootball. Borja Iglesias, proven striker, who won the tournament in 2009 wearing Valencia’ shirt. Along with the forward there are other names such as Alex Moreno (2010, Vilafranca), Miranda (Barça, 2016 and 2017), Ruibal (Manresa, 2011), Edgar González (2009), Bellerín, Bartra, Tello and Montoya. The last four, with FC Barcelona’s team.

Sevilla will be in the next edition of MICFootball, which will be held on the Costa Brava from April 12 to 17, 2022.

The Spanish powerhouse will play its 6th edition in the tournament, an event that it won in 2018 in Category D. Another LaLiga classic team that will try to give everything to crown.

In the current Sevilla there are four players who played MICFootball:

  • Diego Carlos: the Brazilian central defender was part of Desportivo Brasil that was part of the MIC in 2011.
  • Joan Jordan: the Catalan midfielder has played MICFootball up to three times. 2008, 2009 and 2010. First with Atlètic Bisbalenc and later with Gironès Sabat.
  • Oliver Torres: One of the greatest talents in Spanish football came to the tournament with Atlético in 2008.
  • Oscar Rodriguez: played with Real Madrid in 2012.

Villarreal has confirmed its participation in the MICFootball this Easter, which will be held from April 12 to 17 at the Costa Brava.

The yellow team is a familiar team in our tournament. This year will be its 12th presence at the international youth football event.

Villarreal has 4 players on its current squad who were once part of MICFootball. Do you know them?

  • Gerald Moreno. The Catalan striker has played the tournament twice. In 2008 with Badalona and in 2010 with the Catalan NT.
  • Alfonso Pedraza. He played the MICFootball 2014.
  • Pau Torres. The central defender, international with the Spanish NT, played the MIC 2015.
  • Yeremi Pino. The winger was in the 2018 edition.

Valencia CF has confirmed its participation in the 2022 MICFootball, which will be held from April 12 to 17 on the Costa Brava. The che team that will play its 12th MIC.

For the organization it is a tremendous honor to have once again one of the most historical clubs of Spanish football. Founded in 1919, they have won a total of 23 titles, including 6 Spanish Leagues, 8 Spanish Cups and 1 UEFA.

In the current squad of the Valencian club we find a MICPlayer: Hugo Guillamón, who played the MICFootball 2015 with Valencia CF (category B).

No limits, no borders. This year’s MICFootball will have a novelty that will affect all male categories. These will become mixed, regardless of age. Thus, a player can be part of a men’s team if the club in question so wishes. 

This decision was born from the integrating will of the tournament, given the comparative grievance suffered by many young soccer players who, starting from the children’s category, could not be part of federated male teams. 

At MICFootball we want to experience grassroots football with everyone, as is already the case in some countries such as Belgium, England, Denmark and Norway. No age limitations. No discriminations. 

We all play MICFootball. 

RCD Espanyol will play the MICFootball one more year. The blue and white team has not missed a single edition of the Easter appointment.

For us it is a great pride to have one of the best youth teams in European football. RCD Espanyol has a long tradition in the MIC, having crowned a total of 18 times, 13 in men’s categories and 5 in women’s categories.

Always promoting the values emanating from grassroots sport, the periquitos will try to continue competing at a high level in the 2022 edition.

In the current squad of the RCD Espanyol first team there are a total of 11 players with past in the MICFootball. Among them, the international striker with the Spanish National Team Raúl de Tomás or the youngsters Nico Melamed, Javi Puado and Oscar Melendo. Sergi Darder, Sergi Gomez, Miguelón, Manu Morlanes and Fran Merida have also played the Costa Brava tournament on occasion.

MICFootball 2022 continues to take shape. Several of the best quarries in Europe had already confirmed their participation in the tournament, and this week Olympique de Marseille joined. The French team will be in the edition that will take place from April 12 to 17 on the Costa Brava.

Olympique will play the tournament for the second time. The French team is one of the best in training football in Europe.

In the current first team there are two players with past in MICFootball. The first of them is Pau López, a goalkeeper who was present on the Costa Brava in the 2010 edition. On the other hand, the Barça youth squad Konrad de la Fuente arrived at Olympique this summer. The winger has played two editions of the MIC, in 2015 and 2018. In 2015 he scored in the grand final against Real Madrid.

Manchester United will participate one more edition, and there will be already 19, in the MICFootball. The Red Devils have confirmed their presence on the Costa Brava from April 12 to 17, 2022.

For the organization, it is a privilege to add to the list of confirmed teams United, one of the most global and traditional clubs in the history of football.

United have won the MICFootball once. It was in 2005, in the A category, an edition in which Arsenal also debuted in the list of honors (in category D).

Manchester United currently has in its first squad two promising youngsters (already realities) who have played MICFootball with the English team’s shirt. One is Marcus Rashford, a fast forward, who was on the Costa Brava in 2010. The other, one of the candidates for the Golden Boy and the Kopa Trophy, Mason Greenwood. Both MICPlayers accompany Cristiano Ronaldo in the lead for United.

In the ManU we also find other MICPlayers. One is Diogo Dalot, who came to the tournament in 2013 with FC Porto. Eric Bailly played for RCD Espanyol that same year. And Juan Mata, who was in 2003 with the colors of Oviedo.

We are very excited to confirm another new foreign team for MICFootball 2022. Shakhtar Donetsk, a Ukrainian team, will participate in the next edition of our tournament.

It will be the fourth time that the Ukrainians come to the Costa Brava.

Two players from Shakhtar’s current first squad have played MICFootball. One is Ismaily, who played in the 2009 edition wearing the colors of Desportivo Brasil (the same club that Diego Carlos, Sevilla central defender, played for in 2011). The other is Yukhym Konoplia, a youngster who played at MIC 2017.

Shakhtar is one of the teams with the longest tradition in European competitions. So far this century he has always played one, currently occupying position 19th in the ranking in coefficients of the clubs managed by UEFA.
