The stands roar again. Football is back. And so we are! The MICFootball returns after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic.

Next Easter, from April 12th to 17th, the MICFootball will be held again. As always. Following the necessary measures and guaranteeing the safety of everyone, the Costa Brava will once again enjoy the best teams in the world.

It has been a difficult few months, we have had to live an exceptional situation. That is why we come back with more enthusiasm than ever to organize a new edition. Like the one from the beginning of the century in the Canary Islands. We maintain our essence and values. The best youth teams in the world against the most humble, coexistence in the hotel and sports tourism.With quality standards to offer a unique and unforgettable experience for the participants.

MICFootball 2022 will have a total of 7 Football-11 categories. From U20 to U12-A. We will also enjoy a 7-a-side football category (U12-B). And we will again have a female U20 category.Thousands of players have taken part in MICFootball throughout these 20 years. Many of them, like Messi, Neymar, Rashford, Casemiro or Ansu Fati, are now stars. From the Costa Brava to the elite. From a single week to fulfill your dreams. Can you imagine being the next one?

At MICFootball we offer the possibility to improve (even more) the tournament experience. We offer you staying (before or after) here by participating in clinics with experts from FC Barcelona or RCD Espanyol, playing extra friendly games and organizing tourist excursions to you in Barcelona.

Due to the global uncertainty caused by the COVID-19, MICSports has decided not to hold MICFootball tournament this Easter 2021.

The organization is working to offer a new tournament at the end of the season that will allow us to be together with the teams that have believed in us throughout all these years.

Given the impossibility of celebrating MICFootball with all the guarantees and the same quality without putting health at risk, MICSports has decided not to go on with the tournament this year, postponing it until 2022.

Despite this setback, MICSports is still committed to promote youth sport among players so we are planning a competition on late June: MIC SUMMER CUP. A tournament adapted to the new rules, which will give us the opportunity to be close to all those local, national and international teams that have trusted us throughout these 19 years. Our goal is to provide an attractive event in a safe environment to live the magic of youth football.

Juanjo Rovira, MIC director, explains that “Although we won’t be able to celebrate the tournament as we know, we want to play again with you so we are working to offer you a tournament adapted to June guidelines. We wish to come back stronger next year and celebrate finally our 20 years with all the guarantees and the same quality”.

Our dream is to meet again, better and stronger than now, the Easter 2022 to celebrate our 20 years. MICSports will work hard to offer a great edition with the commitment to offer a great edition where you can see the football young promises in a safe environment.

The MIC Direction Committee has been in contact with the governmental authorities, being constantly updated on the growing problems affecting public health by the spread of coronavirus (COVID–19). The current situation has led to the Catalonia General Secretary of Sports to communicate to us the imperative of cancelling the MIC edition this Easter.

Due to the unquestionable seriousness of the pandemic, in conjunction with the aforementioned statement from the General Secretary of Sports, we are compelled to officially inform the public that we will not be celebrating the MICFootball and MICBasketball 2020 Tournament that had been scheduled for April 7th-12th.

The organization deeply regrets not being able to celebrate this year’s edition. As always, much effort has been dedicated to organizing the tournament, but it is essential to face the fact that we are in a highly exceptional and unpredictable situation that requires acting with the utmost responsibility. For this reason, both the Tournament Management and the competent authorities have prioritized the well-being and health of all participants (teams, supporters and volunteers).

We appreciate the understanding of all involved and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. We hope those who have been affected will understand and recognize the prudence in choosing to cancel the tournament in the current circumstances.

At MICSports, we will continue to work with the same enthusiasm as always in celebrating all future editions.

MICFootball has grown older. It seems like yesterday that the first edition of the tournament was held in the Canary Islands and in this 2020 we will reach number 20. But we are not the only ones who have grown. So have the players who have participated in our tournament year after year… And many of them have become great football stars.

On the occasion of our 20th anniversary we have decided to celebrate by choosing the top 11 formed by players who have participated at some time in the MIC-Mediterranean International Cup. The list of applicants is very long, so we asked the MICFootball’s expert committee to do a little screening to reduce the number of applicants and simplify the process. Even so, when you see the list of candidates it will be very, very difficult for you to vote…

From next week, the 11 members of the #DreamMICTeam can be elected at our Instagram profile. During 4 weeks you will be able to vote for: goalkeeper, defenders, midfielders and strikers (in that order).

From the 3rd to the 6th of February: GOALKEEPER
From the 10th to the 13 of February: DEFENDERS
From the 17th to the 20 of February: MIDFIELDERS
From the 24thto the 27 of February: FORWARDS

We already know that the pride of being part of the election of something as important as #DreamMICTeam is enough, but also… Every week we will draw a MICFootball’s merchandising lot among all of you who vote!

Do you need anything else to participate? On Monday the election starts… We’re going to choose the #DreamMICTeam!

It’s time to meet all the teams that will participate in MICFootball’20. This year we present a novelty so that they themselves (clubs, players, coaches, fans, etc.) can announce their presence at the tournament.

How does it work? It’s very easy, you just need to follow these 4 steps:

2- Upload a picture of your team to Stories.

3- Put “MICFootball” in the GIF’s search engine, choose the ones you like the most!

4- Tag us, this way we will share your publication confirming your team!

MIC20 is going to be very special. If your team is one of the lucky ones that will be part of it, it’s time to let the world know about it.

It is well known that MICFootball is an international tournament. Every year, thousands of boys and girls from all over the world come to the Costa Brava to enjoy the best youth football tournament in the world. Throughout these 20 years, we have been adding teams from different countries. Here you can look at the ones that are already in our family.

Every year we welcome teams from some of the countries that are new to our tournament and, of course, an edition as important as the 20th anniversary, would not be less. The registrations are not yet closed, so we may still have some more news, but for the moment we can already confirm 3 new countries, from 3 different continents, that will make their debut in the MIC-Mediterranean International Cup.

We are not going to advance the category or categories in which they will participate, but we can announce that for the first time in the Costa Brava we will welcome teams from Saudi Arabia, Bolivia and Slovenia. We are proud to welcome young footballers from these places and we are going to work so that they and the rest of the participants in the MIC20 have a unique experience.

During MICFootball you experience many things. It is a week in which participants take home memories for a lifetime. But without a doubt, the most special day of each year is the day when MICIntegra is played. Vidreres is the town that hosts this special event, where the integrating power of sport can be perfectly appreciated.

MICIntegra is a great party in which those of us who do not compete are the ones who win the most. A football and basketball championship adapted for people with functional diversity is held throughout the day. The boys and girls who take part teach us that enthusiasm, passion and effort can win over any disability. All of us who are lucky enough to enjoy it have a great lesson in life, and that is priceless.

This 2020 we will celebrate the eighth edition of this special day. Last year we had 25 teams, including the first international representative in history, (FC Andorra SOA) and for 2020 we hope to surpass all records. Because that is our spirit and that is what the players teach us every year at MICIntegra.
