Rodri, Aitana Bonmatí and Lamine Yamal were the stars of the night on Monday in France, being awarded the best players in the world and the best young player respectively. In what was undoubtedly a great celebration for Spanish football, the MIC family also celebrated the success of the three players at the Ballon d’Or gala.
Rodri, a Spaniard at the top
What Xavi or Iniesta could not achieve in 2010, Rodri achieved with a historic Ballon d’Or, the first for a Spanish player since Luis Suárez won it in 1960. The Manchester City midfielder beat Vinicius and Bellingham in the voting. Rodri became the second MICPlayer to receive the Ballon d’Or after Leo Messi.
Aitana, the queen of women’s football
For the second consecutive year, Aitana Bonmatí received the Ballon d’Or that accredits her as the best player in the world. The Barça player, who sponsored the MICFootball 2022 edition, won all possible titles with Barça.
Lamine Yamal, a precociousness without limits
The Barça striker, at 17 years old, is already an icon of world football, breaking all records of precocity at club and national team level. After winning the European Championship this summer, Lamine Yamal was crowned with the Kopa Trophy, succeeding Jude Bellingham on the throne. The Barça player has already left his mark on MICFootball on two occasions, in 2019 and 2022, being champion of the tournament and forming part of the ideal eleven.
